WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care within a correctional healthcare setting in Somerset, Pennsylvania.

The selected candidate may work up to two different shifts within a two-week period.
Every other weekend off.
Job Responsibilities
Provide practical nursing care to incarcerated individuals in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, correctional healthcare policies, and the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
Perform nursing assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring of acute and chronic medical conditions under appropriate clinical supervision.
Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized nursing care plans.
Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as permitted within the LPN scope of practice while maintaining accurate medication administration records.
Respond to medical emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and notify the appropriate Registered Nurse, physician, or provider as needed.
Monitor, assess, and document changes in inmate health status, reporting significant findings to the appropriate healthcare provider.
Collect specimens, perform diagnostic testing, obtain vital signs, and maintain accurate medical documentation.
Assist with intake screenings, chronic care clinics, sick call, discharge planning, and health education.
Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, mental health professionals, correctional officers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to all security procedures, facility policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Perform all duties in accordance with the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act, correctional healthcare standards, facility policies, and the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, active Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
Minimum of one (1) year of recent Licensed Practical Nurse experience required; correctional, emergency, medical-surgical, behavioral health, long-term care, or acute care experience preferred.
Current BLS certification required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Ability to accurately document assessments, treatments, and inmate health information in an electronic medical record.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.
Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment while maintaining professionalism and therapeutic communication.
