Licensed Practical Nurse
Compensation: 37$ - 40$ per hour
Location: 120 W 106th St New York New York 10025 - Onsite
Position Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team at a Long Term Care facility. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift: - 7:30-3:30; 3:30-11:30p and 11:30-7:30a and every other weekend.
- Part time LPN (every other weekend and every other Tuesday and Thursday
- Full time/Part Time LPN's need for Day, Eve, and Night. FT preferable
Key Duties- Collect and document patient admission information, including medical history and insurance details
- Assist the RN in delivering comprehensive nursing care
- Record vital signs and other health indicators
- Prepare patients for medical examinations and collect test samples
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed
- Treat and dress wounds and bedsores
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as needed
- Support patients with personal hygiene and dressing
- Monitor and document food and fluid intake and output
Requirements:
Licenses / Certifications- Current and valid New York State LPN license
- Up-to-date medical clearance, including COVID-19 vaccination
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
Experience Needed- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Long Term Care setting preference
Skills- Understanding patient needs and providing comfort, which enhances trust and patient satisfaction
- Effectively interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams to relay important information and provide emotional support
- Assessing patient conditions, prioritizing care, and making quick decisions, especially in emergencies
- Adjusting to changing patient needs, healthcare protocols, and dynamic work environments
- Coordinating with nurses, doctors, and nursing assistants, and sometimes overseeing support staff
