12-hour shifts, 6:00am-6:30pm, full time (36-40 hours per week). Candidates will work 36 hours the first week and 40 hours the next week on a rotating schedule. Note that 40 hours is not guaranteed every week.
Responsibilities
Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of license.
Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments.
Ensure an adequate amount of supplies and medication are available.
Receive and deliver information regarding residents' medical, social, functional, and other needs.
Participate in shift reports and communicate effectively with residents, family, and staff.
Complete the initial admission nursing assessment tool for newly admitted residents.
Assist with the development of assessments, ongoing reviews, and care plans.
Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation.
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs.
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practice.
Knowledge of the effects of the aging process.
Familiarity with team nursing practices and procedures.
Knowledge of pharmacology and medicines.
Understanding of laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing practices.
