    Job Description:

    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    Location: Staten Island, NY

    Hours/Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon-Thurs 8a-6p. RDO Fri

    In This Role, You Will:

    • Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses.

    • Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record.

    • Assist in maintaining the medical inventory;  place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff.

    • Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.

    • Escort patients to exam rooms.

    • Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets.

    • Assist physician with exams and/or procedures.

    • Prepare and administer Injections.

    • Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.

    • Perform point of care lab testing.

    • Perform EKGs.

    • Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error.

    • Be cross-trained in infusion & intake.

    We Require:

    • Current NYS LPN license required.

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

    • IV Competency required.

    • Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.

    • Experience with EMR’s.

    • Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs.

    What We Offer:

    • Salary: Starting at $35/hr
