    We are looking for an full-time LPN to join our team at NY Spine and Wellness!

    Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with varying early shifts 7am-3:30pm. Will travel to all 3 locations. No weekends, on-call or holidays!

    Position Summary:

    Join our team in a hands-on clinical role where you’ll work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to support patients throughout their care. From preparing patients for exams and procedures to assisting with clinical and administrative tasks, you’ll play an important role in creating a smooth, compassionate patient experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, preparing for exam, etc; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; and charting. Reports any unusual findings to the NP or PA for further evaluation.
    • Clerical responsibilities as assigned, which may include: obtaining lab/x-ray reports and hospital notes, as required. Assists in preparing patients for procedures to include consents and medical clearances (med verification, PMP database search, AKA entry). Performing and documenting New/6MFUP patient reminder calls.
    • Electronically write prescriptions per request of physician but must be reviewed and signed by provider after they are done. Prescriptions are e-scribed and readied for patient pick up per physician orders.
    • Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advise/instructions.
    • Environmental responsibilities as assigned, which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to practice protocol; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control, and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
    • Assists with pill counts, pill wastes, UDS order entry and collection, EKG’s, DME fittings and dispensing, and scheduling appointments.
    • Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
    • Organizational policies as assigned, which may include: respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patient and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly.
    • Provide coverage at other locations, as needed, which includes traveling during the work day. Must have reliable transportation.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality.
    • Assists physicians and providers with procedures and treatments including patient intake, readying patient for procedure, preparing sterile field, setting up equipment and drawing medication to providers’ specifications.
    • Perform Bi-Monthly inventories on Myobloc/Botox medications, coordinate on hand supplies with patient appointments and provide any ordering needs to the physician.
    • Assists physicians when assigned to SODS/NESC, setting up computer workstations, communicating with staff and patient per physician orders, preparing charts, arriving patients, electronically write prescriptions per physicians orders, schedule repeat and follow-up appointments, ensure all forms are signed by physician or appropriate staff, prepare documents for billing and ensure that all paperwork is distributed. Communicate and work closely with office staff via telephone with any scheduling issues. Follow all policies and procedures for SODS/NESC
    • Other responsibilities as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS required;
    • 1- 3 years of recent experience preferred;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred;
    • CPR/BLS certification preferred
    • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
    • Ability to work effectively as team members with physicians and other staff.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
