The Licensed Practical Nurse serves as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with other team members to provide care that promotes optimal health. The Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the care of the patient during their health journey. The Licensed Practical Nurse accepts accountability for provision of care, as part of the RN led team, in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

• Room pediatric patients and prepare them for provider visits.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Administer pediatric vaccines and immunizations.
• Complete developmental and social screenings.
• Perform hearing and vision screenings.
• Collect limited blood specimens through phlebotomy.
• Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) and accurately document results.
• Assist providers with patient exams and procedures.
• Educate patients and families on treatments, immunizations, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient care.
• Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while promoting a positive patient experience.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program, required.
• Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Appropriate state LPN license, required.
• Additional Skills Required: Computer skills, Phone call etiquette, Organizational Skills.
