Not every psychology role is built around routine therapy sessions and predictable outpatient schedules.

This opportunity is for someone who wants to work in an environment where clinical judgment, emotional stability, and real-world problem-solving matter every day. AlediumHR is partnering with a national correctional healthcare organization seeking a Licensed Psychologist to support a secure institutional setting in Leavenworth, Kansas.

The work is structured, fast-paced, and impactful. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team helping manage complex mental health needs within a correctional environment serving both male and female detainees.

The Role in Practice

You'll conduct evaluations, crisis assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing psychological care for an underserved population with significant behavioral and mental health challenges.

Daily responsibilities include

1. Psychological screenings and diagnostic assessments

2. Individualized treatment planning and intervention

3. Crisis stabilization and behavioral management support

4. Collaboration with psychiatry, medical staff, nursing, social services, and security personnel

5. Monitoring patients in restrictive or segregated housing environments

6. Maintaining detailed and compliant clinical documentation

This is hands-on clinical work where adaptability and professional composure are critical.

The Environment

This setting is not for everyone—and that's okay.

The clinicians who thrive here tend to appreciate:

1. Structured environments

2. Team-based decision making

3. Complex patient populations

4. Meaningful long-term impact

5. Clinical autonomy without micromanagement

You'll work with individuals dealing with trauma, severe mental illness, addiction, and behavioral instability. The work can be demanding, but many psychologists find it among the most professionally rewarding experiences of their careers.

Background We're Seeking

1. Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university

2. Current unrestricted Psychologist license in Kansas

3. Minimum two years of clinical experience, including at least one year in a comparable setting

4. Strong assessment, communication, and intervention skills

5. Additional experience in corrections, detention, inpatient behavioral health, or forensic psychology is highly valued.

Compensation & Opportunity

Salary range: $165K – $175K

Potential sign-on bonus

Stable full-time position with long-term career growth potential

Opportunity to work within a large, established behavioral health infrastructure

A Few Important Realities

This is a fully onsite role in Leavenworth, Kansas. Remote work is not available.

Candidates must be comfortable working inside an ICE detention environment serving both male and female populations.

If you're looking for predictable outpatient work, this likely won't be the right fit. If you're looking for challenging, meaningful clinical work where your presence genuinely matters, this could be an exceptional opportunity.
