    Job Description

    Adelphi is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Psychotherapist to provide trauma-focused therapeutic and crisis intervention services to Spanish-speaking crime victims at a facility in Westchester County, New York. The ideal candidate will deliver trauma-informed psychotherapy and crisis intervention in Spanish to crime victims, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

    Requirements
    • Active and unrestricted New York license as a Licensed Psychotherapist (e.g., LMFT, Licensed Psychoanalyst, or other NY-recognized psychotherapy license)
    • Master's or doctoral degree (as required by license type) from an accredited institution in marriage and family therapy, psychoanalysis, or related behavioral health field
    • Must be fluent in English and Spanish to deliver clinical therapy and crisis intervention in both languages.
      • Minimum 5 years of experience counseling victims of crime
      • Experience with child/elder abuse, sexual and physical assault, domestic violence, or families of homicide victims
      • Demonstrable crisis intervention skills and exceptional interpersonal/relational skills
      • Working knowledge of the criminal justice system and victim advocacy processes
      • Ability to complete required background screening
      • Ability to provide proof of licensure and required professional liability insurance
      • Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation

    Responsibilities
      • Provide in-person and telephone individual therapy and crisis intervention in Spanish to Spanish-speaking crime victims
      • Advocate on behalf of clients with outside agencies, including healthcare providers
      • Advocate on behalf of clients throughout the criminal justice process
      • Accompany clients to court proceedings when requested, providing language support as needed
      • Research and provide referrals and resource information to clients
      • Participate in internal staff meetings regarding individual client cases
      • Maintain accurate records and compile statistical/narrative reports as required
      • Provide services on-site, with offsite work only by prior approval
      • Comply with all applicable laws, funding requirements, and professional standards
