A Licensed Surveyor will lead and manage all aspects of telecom-related survey services, with a focus on quality control, staff mentorship, and efficient project execution. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading and growing our survey operations, providing technical expertise, overseeing quality and compliance, and helping to drive new technologies and continuous improvement across the team. A strong understanding of field conditions, data collection methods, and team management is essential to delivering accurate and timely survey data in support of wireless infrastructure development.
 
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in land surveying. Experience leading teams and managing field-to-finish workflows. Familiarity with telecom-specific survey deliverables such as 1As, tower lease exhibits, access/utility easements, and FAA/FCC requirements.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with ability to develop and inspire a team
  • Understanding of state regulations, telecom industry standards, and survey best practices
  • Highly organized with capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities and fast-paced environments
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to influence others’ point of view
  • Familiarity with field data collection tools such as Trimble equipment, total stations, GNSS receivers, and data collectors
  • Proficiency with survey and drafting software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS/GNSS systems, and other geospatial tools
  • Strong communication skills for both internal coordination and client-facing interactions
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations governing land surveying and telecom infrastructure
  • Innovative mindset with desire to enhance workflows and adopt new technologies
  • Strong analytical skills with capability to assess complex problems, develop efficient innovative solutions, and implement them effectively

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the responsible licensed professional for telecom survey deliverables, ensuring legal compliance and technical accuracy.
  • Oversee the full cycle of survey operations—from scope development and field coordination to drafting and final QA/QC.
  • Mentor and develop survey staff, including the Survey Services Coordinator, to strengthen team capabilities and succession planning.
  • Manage projects, survey assignments, and team workloads to meet client expectations and project deadlines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Telecom team, Project Managers, Engineers, and CAD staff to align survey efforts with broader project goals.
  • Review and seal plats, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, 1As, and other required documents per applicable regulations.
  • Guide the implementation of advanced survey technologies, automation processes, and data collection tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor departmental performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvements for better productivity and utilization.
  • Ensure equipment standards are maintained and survey field data is reliable and organized.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by ensuring responsiveness, high-quality work, and project transparency.
  • Provide guidance on long-term licensing strategy and compliance with evolving standards in the telecom industry.
  • Identifies internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve processes or services.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and readily share new ideas.
Salary Range: $100k - $130k+
