Licensed Therapist/Counselor – Refugee & Community Mental Health Services


Location: Boise, Idaho


We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Therapist/Counselor to join our team in Boise, Idaho. As a leading mental health service provider in the region, we are committed to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care to individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.


This position will have a particular emphasis on serving refugee and immigrant populations. We are looking for a clinician who is comfortable working across cultures, collaborating with interpreters and other members of the care team, and addressing the unique needs of individuals and families adjusting to life in a new community.


Experience with the Idaho Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (ICANS) assessment is strongly preferred. Candidates with significant ICANS experience or a strong willingness to become proficient in ICANS are especially encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Assess clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Complete and utilize ICANS assessments as part of treatment planning and ongoing care coordination when applicable.
  • Provide culturally responsive mental health services to refugee and immigrant clients and families.
  • Effectively collaborate with interpreters when providing services to clients with limited English proficiency.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records and documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and payer requirements.
  • Collaborate with case managers, community-based rehabilitation specialists, peer support providers, interpreters, and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in mental health treatment, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive services.
Qualifications


  • Must hold a valid license as a Therapist or Counselor, or be a Master's-level provider eligible to provide services in Idaho.
  • Experience providing therapy and counseling services to individuals with diverse backgrounds and mental health needs.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions for a variety of mental health conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide your own iPad or laptop for charting.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, professional standards, and culturally responsive care.
Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience completing and utilizing ICANS assessments.
  • Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or other culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
  • Experience providing trauma-informed care.
  • Experience working effectively with interpreters.
  • Specialization or experience with children, adolescents, families, or other populations served by our agency.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and insurance documentation and billing requirements.
