At EmmaVet you will engage in a diverse and challenging medical caseload. We provide full Primary Care services Monday through Friday complemented by dedicated Urgent Care available seven days a week from 1100 AM to 1100 PM. This schedule ensures continuity of care and a variety of patient needs allowing you to utilize skills in pet wellness prevention testing and diagnostics and advanced surgical procedures. We proudly offer comprehensive care for routine needs as well as critical situations ensuring that not every pet emergency needs to be treated at a 24-hour ICU or specialty center.

Emma Vet is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT to join our Urgent Care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and compassionate technician who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic clinical environment.

Tentative Schedule Thursday 1100 AM - 700 PM Friday 1100 AM - 700 PM Saturday 1100 AM - 1100 PM
Hospital Hours Monday-Friday 800 AM - 1100 PM Saturday-Sunday 1100 AM - 1100 PM
Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to urgent and emergency patients Assist veterinarians with diagnostics treatments and procedures Perform venipuncture catheter placement and monitoring of patients Accurately document patient care and communicate with the medical team Maintain a clean organized and efficient treatment area Support excellent client communication during urgent care visits
Qualifications Current Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT credential required Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred but not required Strong technical multitasking and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations Team-oriented with a positive professional attitude

Note The Licensed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital andor state and will be outlined by the states Veterinary Practice Act andor the responsible veterinarian where applicable.

What Youll Bring to the Team A calm efficient and decisive approach especially during medical emergencies. Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing. Proficiency in a range of technical skills with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures anesthesia monitoring and critical care nursing. Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure. One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred urgent care or emergency experience is a plus
