Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) – H.E.A.L. Veterinary Hospital
Lead a clinical team while staying hands-on with the medicine you love—without weekend shifts. H.E.A.L. Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician to help guide daily clinical workflow, mentor technicians and assistants, and deliver excellent patient care. You’ll work directly with hospital leadership and have a meaningful voice in how our growing, independently owned practice operates.
Pay: 35–40 per hour, based on experience. Full-time weekday position; no weekends. We’re open to discussing a four- or five-day workweek, with the schedule agreed upon during hiring. Required availability includes
9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Friday and on at least one of our Wednesday or Thursday surgery and dentistry days.

What You’ll Do- Help lead daily clinical floor operations by organizing workflow, delegating responsibilities, reinforcing standards, and preparing the team to deliver excellent patient care.
- Serve as a trusted clinical resource for veterinary technicians and assistants through hands-on support, coaching, and clear direction.
- Provide technical leadership in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, patient monitoring, and related procedures.
- Onboard, train, mentor, and support the development and retention of clinical team members.
- Partner with hospital leadership to improve clinical systems, team performance, and the employee, patient, and client experience.
- Help build a culture of accountability, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support performance management, employee development, and ongoing technical training.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and contribute to an outstanding client experience.

Who We’re Looking For- An active New York State Veterinary Technician license in good standing.
- Strong clinical skills and the confidence, initiative, and judgment to step directly into a hands-on team leadership role.
- Strong experience with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, patient monitoring, and related technical procedures, including the ability to guide and support others in these areas.
- Experience as a lead, supervisor, trainer, mentor, or trusted clinical resource is strongly preferred. A formal leadership title is not required if you can demonstrate experience guiding coworkers, coordinating workflow, reinforcing standards, or taking ownership of team performance.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest or experience working with exotic patients, including birds, companion mammals, and reptiles, preferred but not required.
- Experience improving workflow, operational efficiency, or team performance is a plus.
- Experience with Vetspire practice management software preferred but not required.
- Interest or experience in holistic medicine and rehabilitation, including water treadmill therapy, preferred but not required.
