The Overnight Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and confident Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT to support our overnight Emergency and Urgent Care service. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working with a high level of independence, exercising sound clinical judgment, and making decisions in fast-paced high-acuity situations.

Overnight technicians play a critical role in patient care and hospital operations. You will be trusted as a leader on the floor and a key decision-maker during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and urgent care triage during overnight hours • Monitor and manage anesthesia and critical patients • Assist with emergency and urgent surgical procedures • Place IV catheters, obtain blood samples, and run in-house diagnostics • Provide advanced nursing care to hospitalized and critical patients • Accurately assess patient status and escalate care appropriately • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records • Communicate clearly and confidently with veterinarians and team members • Serve as a resource and support for assistants during overnight shifts

Who You Are

This role requires a technician who:

• Is confident working independently and making clinical decisions • Has strong emergency urgent care or overnight experience • Remains calm, organized, and decisive in high-pressure situations • Understands patient prioritization and triage protocols • Takes ownership of patient care and hospital flow overnight

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT in New York • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred • Previous ER Urgent Care or overnight experience strongly preferred • Strong anesthesia triage and critical care skills • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions • Excellent communication and leadership skills
