Position Overview
Legacy Staffing is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) on behalf of a behavioral health client. This position supports adults in a residential treatment setting and plays a critical role in managing medication administration, resident health monitoring, psychiatric coordination, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges and be comfortable collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team. This position offers the opportunity to grow into the primary nursing contact for the facility while working alongside experienced clinical staff.

Part-time, temporary-to-hire position
Up to 20 hours per week, with potential for up to 25 hours
Potential opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on facility needs
Flexible schedule:
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Must be available:
Two weekdays
Saturdays
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Health Monitoring
Deliver high-quality healthcare services to residents in a residential treatment program
Conduct ongoing physical and mental health assessments
Monitor and document changes in resident health status
Provide health education and support to residents
Facilitate crisis intervention and coordinate appropriate responses when needed
Medication Management
Administer medications and injections according to physician orders
Review, maintain, and correct Medication Administration Records (MARs)
Train and monitor shift supervisors responsible for medication administration
Ensure medication documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant
Coordinate with contracted pharmacies to maintain adequate medication inventories, including PRN medications
Medical & Psychiatric Coordination
Communicate with physicians, hospitals, case managers, service coordinators, conservators, and family members as needed
Coordinate resident care during monthly psychiatric visits
Communicate resident progress and treatment needs to psychiatric providers
Manage psychiatric reports and treatment recommendations
Lab & Clinical Documentation
Coordinate all laboratory orders and ensure timely completion
Review lab results and report findings to appropriate medical providers
Maintain the Clozapine REMS Registry and ensure required updates
Complete nursing summaries for Regional Center IPP reviews (quarterly and annually)
Complete annual LIC 602 forms and TB documentation for residents
Review incoming resident referrals to ensure medical appropriateness
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team
Support staff education and ongoing training
Assist in maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Current and valid LVN or LPT license
Minimum two (2) years of experience while licensed
Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
High school diploma or equivalent
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass required health screening and TB testing
Ability to pass background & live scan
