    Description

    Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
    Location: Carlsbad, TX
    Position Type: Contract
    Duration: September 18, 2023, to March 17, 2024

    Pay:

    • Starting salary of $33 to $38 per hour.
    • A $1000 bonus is offered for completing the full contract.


    Qualifications Required:

    • Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas (TX).
    • Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS).
    • Valid Regular Driver License (DL).
    • Recent TB test within the past year.

    Preferred:

    • LVN License Number.

    Responsibilities:

    As an LVN  you will perform various patient care duties under the supervision of the Unit RN and Unit Nurse Manager. Key responsibilities include:

    • Administering medications and treatments orally, rectally, internally, or by injection.
    • Performing technical nursing procedures in accordance with facility and state regulations.
    • Documenting and reporting pertinent observations.
    • Communicating orally and in writing with other team members regarding pertinent information.
    • Responding to emergency situations to ensure the safety of individuals.
    • Following safety and infection control procedures of the facility.
    • Monitoring individuals for treatments and procedures.
    • Providing education to individuals with specific health goals.
    • Assisting other staff in turning/repositioning individuals to administer treatments.
    • Managing individual medical records in Electronic Health Record or paper chart.

    Job Requirements for all candidates:

    • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Demonstrated computer and electronic health record skills (preferred).
    • Licensed to practice as a licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).

    Additional Information:

    • No extra time off will be available during the holiday season, including Christmas and New Year's.
    • Candidates must have a valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification.
    • Negative PPD (tuberculosis) results within the last 12 months are required.
    • COVID-19 testing with a negative result is required (facility provides testing on the date of OB).
    • COVID-19 Vaccination Card (if applicable, not mandatory).
    • Candidates must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check.
    • Candidates must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (provided by the facility).
