Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Location: Carlsbad, TX Position Type: Contract Duration: September 18, 2023, to March 17, 2024
Pay:
Starting salary of $33 to $38 per hour.
A $1000 bonus is offered for completing the full contract.
Qualifications Required:
Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas (TX).
Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS).
Valid Regular Driver License (DL).
Recent TB test within the past year.
Preferred:
LVN License Number.
Responsibilities:
As an LVN you will perform various patient care duties under the supervision of the Unit RN and Unit Nurse Manager. Key responsibilities include:
Administering medications and treatments orally, rectally, internally, or by injection.
Performing technical nursing procedures in accordance with facility and state regulations.
Documenting and reporting pertinent observations.
Communicating orally and in writing with other team members regarding pertinent information.
Responding to emergency situations to ensure the safety of individuals.
Following safety and infection control procedures of the facility.
Monitoring individuals for treatments and procedures.
Providing education to individuals with specific health goals.
Assisting other staff in turning/repositioning individuals to administer treatments.
Managing individual medical records in Electronic Health Record or paper chart.
Job Requirements for all candidates:
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated computer and electronic health record skills (preferred).
Licensed to practice as a licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).
Additional Information:
No extra time off will be available during the holiday season, including Christmas and New Year's.
Candidates must have a valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification.
Negative PPD (tuberculosis) results within the last 12 months are required.
COVID-19 testing with a negative result is required (facility provides testing on the date of OB).
COVID-19 Vaccination Card (if applicable, not mandatory).
Candidates must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check.
Candidates must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (provided by the facility).
