Licensed Vocational Nurse-part time - Part-Time

The Nurse in Wellness Center assists the Resident Services Director in the wellness and healthcare needs of the residents and employees.

Part Time- Position available (2 Days Per Week)

Education: 

Current Licensed Vocational Nurse in California. Current CPR card.

Experience: 

Experience working with elderly population in acute care, skilled nursing or home health setting. Knowledge of medications, including side effects and contraindications.

Skills: 

Possess superior clinical skills to make sound, accurate assessments and decisions. Must be self-directed. Able to respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organize, coordinate and administer resident medications as needed.
2. Apartment visits for ill, injured, anxious and depresses residents.
3. Daily phone and/or room checks for residents who do not check-in.
4. Respond to all Red Alerts and emergencies.
5. Run daily clinic for minor medical problems, BP checks and dressing changes.
6. Assists with resident transfers to and from the HCC as needed.
7. Evaluate ill residents and plan appropriate care, including doctor calls and appointments, ordering medication refills and arranging caregivers.
8. Communication and documentation of resident healthcare and psychosocial issues.
9. Carry out physician orders as requested within scope of practice.
10. Assess residents for Services For You program as needed.
11. Complete incident reports and Red Alert forms.
