    Working Title Licensed Vocational Nursing Adjunct (Applicant Pool) Position Status Part Time Department School of Health Sciences General Summary

    The Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for providing quality instruction and clinical supervision to nursing students within the vocational nursing program. This position supports student learning through classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction while ensuring course content aligns with program objectives, professional nursing standards, and institutional expectations. The LVN Adjunct member promotes a positive learning environment, evaluates student performance, and collaborates with nursing faculty and department leadership to support student success.

    Specific Position Duties

    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field.
    • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to teach various courses, times, locations, and delivery methods as needed and reasonably requested by the College.
    • Utilizes appropriately challenging coursework to help students realize their full potential as learners.
    • Provides students with written expectations, including syllabi, policies, assignment instructions, graded evaluations, and other course-related materials.
    • Through various instructional methods, affirms the worth and dignity of all persons and supports the right of all individuals to learn.
    • Maintains an appropriate learning and assessment environment in the classroom, laboratory, clinical setting, or online/distance learning environment that encourages the free exchange of ideas while upholding academic honesty and objectivity.
    • Prepares adequately for class and arrives promptly for class meetings, labs, clinical experiences, and other scheduled instructional activities.
    • Delivers instructional material in a clear, organized, and understandable manner.
    • Addresses student concerns, including comments, questions, and feedback, in a timely manner through class interactions, posted office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate means.
    • Provides appropriate and constructive feedback regarding clinical hands-on performance and written assignments related to course or clinical content.
    • Submits required reports, schedules, grades, self-service time entries, and other requested documentation to the department chair in a timely manner.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Current license or privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas and active employment in nursing within the past three (3) years; or an advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and/or nursing administration, with three (3) years of varied nursing experience since graduation.
