Job Summary:
Responsible for researching, preparing, and submitting complex license application (e.g. Pharmacy and Adult Beverage renewals), for obtaining licenses for new locations, or for obtaining licenses for specials projects. Responsible for obtaining all supporting documentation and signatures and ensuring compliance with jurisdiction requirements. Works directly with jurisdiction and business partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works independently to prepare and submit complex license applications, meeting the requirements of licensing jurisdictions.
- Effectively and regularly communicates with Licensing leadership and business partner to understand goals and achieve objectives.
- Represents Licensing internally to business partners and externally to licensing jurisdictions, resolving issues using negotiation and experience.
- Demonstrates independent judgement and critical thinking to proactively identify issues, appreciate operational impacts, and report on findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides guidance by training, coaching, or mentoring other Licensing team members.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of paralegal experience in a corporate law department or law firm OR Associate's Degree with paralegal certificate and at least 2 years of paralegal experience in a corporate law department or law firm OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of paralegal experience with a corporate law department or law firm.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensing experience
- Experience with and working knowledge of state and federal agency regulations of pharmacies and other health care facilities.
- Undergraduate degree and a Paralegal certificate from an ABA-certified paralegal program.
- Experience in a retail environment and/or healthcare setting. Licensing experience.

- Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific projects goal and objectives)
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Experience using analytical skills to independently review, draft, negotiate and prepare documents.
- Experience using written communication and grammatical skills to draft/compose legal documents, communications and reports.
- Experience utilizing interpersonal and team-building skills to foster collaboration and establish positive relationships.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
