JOB SUMMARY: Monitor Lid Line machine and inspect lids for defects as often as possible. Fill out all necessary paperwork. Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs to machines. Keep material levels and lubricant containers full. Keep area clean and organized. In addition, perform and complete other work as assigned by shift manager. All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging's safety procedures and policies.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Check Machine Operation: Inspect machine operation as often as possible. Inspect lids for defects as often as possible. Complete machine log/maintain Process Control. Monitor lubrication and material levels and keep full. Run blending system at specified percentages. Run equipment at specified speeds. Correct vacuum system alarm causes. Bring material to machines from warehouse.
Perform Mechanical Repairs on Lid Equipment: Perform repairs on machines as needed. Notify maintenance for large repairs. Record any repairs on downtime log. Work with the maintenance department during tooling changes and PMs.
Fill in for Packers: Give packer breaks. Fill in for packers if the department is short staffed. See Lid Packer duties.
Complete Quality Reports: Every two hours, weigh lids and record weight for each lane. Keep lids in weight specification. Check labels and confirm the packers' count. Check formation and lid fit. Run specific tests as needed for different lids. Complete Lid Weight Tracking spreadsheet.
Complete Lid Line Production Report: Record strokes per minute, total finished goods amount, potential finished goods amount, and efficiency percentage. Cite any discrepancies that occur during the shift.
Make Boxes: Check schedule and confirm proper boxes are being used. Number boxes to calculate production totals. Create list to order boxes from warehouse. Label boxes if needed. Record info and include in the Shift Production Report.
Keep Work Area Clean: Sweep and keep area clean for the next shift. Keep area organized and clutter free. Keep materials in their designated areas. Grind scrapped lids, patties and excess sheet. Recase or grind lids from warehouse damage. Complete lid quality holds.
Weekly Cleaning: Grease all fittings. Change/clean air filters as needed. Wipe off all excess grease and oil from machine. Clean machine as indicated on cleaning SAP work order.
Paperwork: Complete required paperwork.
Responsible for assuring production of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
Other duties as assigned.

OTHER OCCASIONAL PHYSICAL TASKS: Rolling plastic sheet as it comes out of the machine, grinding sheet, performing mechanical troubleshooting, and using a pallet jack.
WORK DEVICES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Machines 800, 801, 802, 803, 804, 805, grinders, crystallizers, dryers, hoists, knives, forklift, miscellaneous housekeeping supplies and hand tools.
TRAINING PROVIDED: On-the-job training provided by designated trainer.
SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS: Supervision received from Shift Manager, Group Leader and trainer.
TIME OF OPERATION: 12 hour shifts, working alternately (36) and (48) hour weeks with four (15) minute breaks and one (25) minute lunch
