Overview:
Performs LiDAR processing and geospatial production tasks with limited supervision. Demonstrates proficiency in classification, feature extraction, and QA/QC while contributing to project delivery and team success.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Direction
- Works independently on routine assignments.
- Assists with onboarding and mentoring junior technicians.
- Provides feedback to improve workflows and production efficiency.
At the Operational and Company Level
- Collaborates with project managers and senior staff to support project execution.
- Helps maintain consistency in production standards and documentation.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Do the Work
- Process and manage LiDAR datasets for a variety of project types.
- Perform point cloud classification and feature extraction with minimal supervision.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and resolve data quality issues.
- Utilize MicroStation, TerraScan, TerraModeler, Global Mapper, and related software.
- Prepare deliverables for utility, transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
- Support integration of LiDAR datasets into various CAD and engineering workflows.
- Maintain project documentation and processing records.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree or technical coursework preferred.
- Three or more (3+) years of LiDAR processing or geospatial production experience.
- Intermediate proficiency with MicroStation CONNECT, TerraScan, and TerraModeler.
- Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial data standards.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with scripting, automation, Python, or VBA preferred.
- Experience with utility or transportation projects preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
- Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Partially outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
- Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
