Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement (Bachelor’s Degree preferred);
Minimum 4 years’ experience in supervisory/leadership experience;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
Strong time management, organization, planning and customer service skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain awareness of all Security matters and actions of all tours;
Supervise the investigation of incidents, communications, preparation and forwarding of written reports;
Conduct investigations as directed by the Chief;
Review security reports and consult with Sergeants and the Chief to determine priority locations relative to crime conditions;
Study deployment of the Force, and make changes where appropriate for more effective coverage;
Notify members of the Force through the Dispatcher of scheduled court appearances and other related notifications;
Supervise Sergeants, Special Patrolmen/women (Peace Officers), Security Officers and Dispatchers at irregular intervals to ascertain job performance, inspect uniforms, equipment and general appearance of members of the Force;
Represent the Chief, Public Safety at community meeting when designated; and
The Lieutenant shall assist the Chief in Department administration. He/she shall exercise such authority and supervision as assigned by the Chief, Public Safety.
