Position Summary
The Life Enrichment Assistant plays a key role in creating a vibrant and engaging community for our residents. This position assists with planning, organizing, and leading activities that promote socialization, emotional well-being, physical activity, and fun. The ideal candidate is outgoing, creative, dependable, and passionate about working with seniors.
What You'll Do
- Assist with creating and distributing monthly activity calendars
- Communicate upcoming events through flyers, announcements, and postings
- Help decorate the community for holidays, special events, and seasonal celebrations
- Lead group activities, games, classes, outings, and special events
- Encourage resident participation and engagement
- Foster meaningful social connections among residents
- Ensure scheduled activities occur as planned and provide alternatives when necessary
- Safely transport residents using community vehicles as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and activity records
- Support community events and special programs
- Collaborate with team members to create memorable resident experiences
Qualifications
Required
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with seniors, families, and team members
- Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Office, and data entry
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Weekend availability
Preferred
- Experience working with seniors, assisted living, memory care, recreation, or activities programs
- Knowledge of Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations
- Event planning or recreational programming experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting
- Ability to safely assist residents with activities and outings
