    Life Enrichment Coordinator

    Position Summary

    The Life Enrichment Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and support for Social Services, Activities, and resident experience programming across skilled nursing facilities. This role focuses on strengthening quality of life, customer service, regulatory compliance, resident engagement, and program effectiveness.

    The coordinator partners with facility leadership, Nursing, Therapy, Admissions, and interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities, improve programming, support resident retention, and enhance the overall resident and family experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Evaluate and improve Social Services and Activities programs across assigned facilities.
    • Develop resident-centered programming that supports psycho social well-being, meaningful engagement, dignity, choice, and quality of life.
    • Support facility teams with discharge planning, behavioral health needs, resident rights, grievances, family communication, and service recovery.
    • Partner with Nursing, Therapy, Admissions, and Operations to improve resident satisfaction, retention, census stability, and appropriate length of stay.
    • Identify barriers that may contribute to avoidable discharges or shortened stays and assist teams in developing solutions.
    • Monitor resident and family satisfaction trends and implement improvement plans.
    • Conduct audits, mock surveys, and education related to Social Services, Activities, behavioral health, documentation, and quality-of-life requirements.
    • Standardize best practices, documentation expectations, programming tools, and performance measures across facilities.
    • Coach, mentor, and support Social Services Directors and Activity Professionals.
    • Promote innovative programming, community partnerships, volunteer involvement, and family engagement.
    • Assist with corrective action plans and sustained regulatory compliance when opportunities are identified.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute care, Social Services, Activities, or resident experience.
    • Working knowledge of CMS regulations, survey expectations, resident rights, behavioral health, and activity programming.
    • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, customer service, and quality-improvement skills.
    • Ability to analyze performance trends and implement practical improvement strategies.
