Life Enrichment Coordinator - Memory Support
Are you passionate about creating meaningful experiences for older adults and supporting exceptional memory care? University Retirement Community is seeking a compassionate and engaging Life Enrichment Coordinator to support our Memory Support neighborhood.
In this role, you’ll do more than plan engaging programs—you’ll help ensure our Halcyon program is successfully carried out each day. You’ll train staff on the program, support resident care and documentation, and work closely with residents, families, and team members to create a positive, person-centered experience.
Starting Wage: $26.00/hour, dependent on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends
Shift: Typically 9:00 AM–7:00 PM; hours may vary
Plan and lead therapeutic, recreational, and life enrichment programs for Memory Support residents
Train staff on the Halcyon program and help ensure the program is consistently followed in day-to-day resident care
Create meaningful activities that support residents’ emotional, physical, spiritual, social, and intellectual well-being
Assist with portions of new resident admissions and assessments
Help maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records
Participate in resident care conferences with residents’ families and the care team
Coordinate wellness and recreation programs based on residents’ individual needs and abilities
Provide hands-on leadership and engagement during activities
Support and supervise volunteers
Collaborate with the Activity Director and interdisciplinary team to enhance residents’ quality of life
Experience in senior living, recreation therapy, activities, or a related field preferred
1–2 years of assisted living or skilled nursing experience preferred
Knowledge of gerontology, dementia, physiology, anatomy, or recreation therapy is a plus
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, customer service, and team-building skills
Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records systems
Ability to confidently lead group activities and actively engage residents
Experience facilitating group activities is a plus
Activity Coordinator Certification is required. If not already certified, the course must be completed after hire. The employee pays the initial cost, with full reimbursement upon successful completion.
