    Job Description

A day in the life at Fort Greely

You arrive on post, review overnight work orders, and map out your day with the Facility Supervisor’s priorities. With blueprints and wiring diagrams in hand, you move from building to building, inspecting panels, initiating devices, and suppression cylinders. You test initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and the system transmitter, swap faulty components, and verify readings on pressure gauges—recharging or replacing containers as needed. Between calls, you coordinate with warehouse staff to source the right parts, log materials for periodic inventories, and share best practices with fellow technicians. Throughout, you follow NEC/NFPA/UFC codes, manufacturer references, and site procedures, staying vigilant about safety while communicating professionally with customers and coworkers.
