Life Science Teacher

Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Qualifications:

• Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Certification: Valid Texas teaching certificate with required secondary science or life science/biology endorsements (such as Grades 7-12).
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of life science curricula, TEKS standards, and lab safety protocols.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Instruction: Plan and use effective lesson plans, labs, and instructional materials that match district guidelines and state standards.
• Management: Create a safe, orderly, and positive environment for student learning in both the classroom and laboratory settings.
• Assessment: Measure student progress regularly through formal and informal evaluations, projects, and tests.
• Communication: Confer with parents, students, and admin team members regarding academic and behavioral progress.
