JOB SUMMARY:
The Life Skills Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to high school students with disabilities in a life skills program designed to promote academic, functional, social-emotional, vocational, and independent living skills. The program serves students in grades 9â12 and may continue to provide services beyond grade 12 in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and eligibility requirements. The teacher develops and implements individualized educational programs that support students in achieving post-secondary goals related to employment, independent living, and community participation. The Life Skills Teacher collaborates closely with staff, families, related service providers, and community agencies to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and independence.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district.
