Lifeguard at Patty Pool - Student Assistant

Student Lifeguards at the Patty Center Pool ensure a safe and clean environment during swims, practices, and rentals. Responsibilities include enforcing safety rules, responding to emergencies, performing water quality tests, cleaning pool areas, and completing reports.
Current Lifeguard and CPR certifications are required. Lifeguards must demonstrate strong safety skills, work independently, communicate professionally, and contribute to a supportive team. Nanook Recreation provides ongoing staff support.
To excel in this role, bring focus, responsibility, and a commitment to safety every shift. Stay alert and proactive in monitoring swimmers, confidently applying your lifeguard and CPR training when needed. Maintain a clean, organized pool area, and follow procedures for water testing and reporting with accuracy.
Strong communication and a courteous attitude will help you build positive relationships with pool users. While you'll often work independently, success also depends on being a reliable and collaborative member of the lifeguard team. Take initiative, stay organized, and lean on the support offered by Nanook Recreation to grow in your role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Nanook Recreation is willing to train applicants depending on lifeguard certification class availability. Applicants with Water Safety Instructor or equivalent lifeguard experiences are preferred.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification and CPR/AED for Lifeguards Certification.
Position Details:
This is a part-time, student position. Compensation is based on experience and the specific duties assigned.
