Midwest Pool Management is hiring Lifeguard Instructors to lead StarGuard Elite lifeguard certification courses and train candidates in safety, skills, and professionalism.
Lifeguard Instructors play a critical role in representing our company to new employees, setting a professional example, and leading StarGuard Elite lifeguard certification courses to train candidates in safety, skills, and professionalism. This role works closely with District Managers and facility staff to provide a safe, effective, and engaging learning environment. Certification and training to become a Lifeguard Instructor will be provided. Previous lifeguard experience is required.

- Schedule: Certification classes take place year-round, hours vary depending on class schedules
- Employment Type: Part-time
- Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older by the date of your Lifeguard Certification Class
- Previous lifeguard experience required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Dependable, organized, and professional
- Ability to respond to emergencies effectively
- Ability to maintain attention to detail in both training and pool safety
Responsibilities
- Attend Lifeguard Instructor training and ongoing in-service trainings
- Teach group lifeguard courses and evaluate candidates' skills according to StarGuard Elite guidelines
- Maintain a professional appearance and abide by uniform requirements
- Ensure the classroom and pool facility are clean, safe, and organized
- Perform daily safety checks of pool and deck areas
- Monitor participants for potential accidents and take appropriate action
- Maintain accurate attendance records and skills checklists for each course
- Document accidents, incidents, and rescues as required
- Notify District Managers of emergencies or other issues
- Take proper care of StarGuard Elite and Midwest Pool Management testing materials and equipment
- Ensure students complete tests and skill evaluations per StarGuard Elite standards
- Assist with planning and actively participate in mandatory staff meetings and trainings
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Certifications & Training
- Lifeguard Instructor Certification required to teach classes (training provided if not already certified)
