The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests in and around the pool or facility. This role requires constant vigilance, quick decision-making, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. The Lifeguard also helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
This is a part-time, seasonal position running from May through September, averaging 34-36 hours per week with typical 6-7 hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor pool activities and enforce all safety rules and facility policies. • Maintain constant surveillance of swimmers and surrounding areas. • Identify and prevent potentially hazardous situations. • Respond immediately and appropriately to emergencies, including water rescues and first aid. • Administer CPR, AED, and other lifesaving measures as needed. • Complete incident and accident reports accurately and promptly. • Conduct routine safety checks of pool equipment and surrounding areas. • Assist with pool setup, cleanliness, and general facility upkeep. • Provide excellent customer service and answer guest questions professionally.
Qualifications:
• Current Lifeguard certification • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications • Strong swimming skills and physical stamina • Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations • Must have a valid drivers license
