Tryfacta is seeking a Lifeguard for our client in North Miami, FL 33161. This is a temporary contract assignment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Patrol and observe swimming pool area
- Prevent tag games, fighting and other infractions of rules around the pool
- Rescue tired bathers or bathers having difficulties
- Apply artificial respiration if necessary
- Administer first aid to cuts and other injuries suffered by bathers
- Assist in sweeping, mopping and picking up wastepaper and trash in pool area and buildings
- Paint machinery and equipment to protect against rust
- Use various maintenance tools to maintain the area surrounding a pool
- See that pool rescue equipment, benches and other movable equipment are kept where they belong
- Check temperature of water and amounts of chemicals in water
- Service as cashier at pool, make up deposits and turn in monies received.
Additional examples of work performed:
- Conduct swimming lessons, aquatic programs and swim meets
- Vacuum pool
- Keep simple records
- Work behind counter checking baskets and valuables
- Perform related work as required.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Requires climbing, bending and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Lifesaving equipment.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of life saving and first-aid methods and techniques as applied to accidents in the water and surrounding areas
- Some knowledge of swimming pool equipment and its uses
- Ability to operate modern life saving equipment and to administer first-aid treatment
- Ability to prevent dangerous situations from arising, to recognize emergencies and to take appropriate action
- Ability to give instructions in swimming and life saving
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to perform routine tasks in the operation and maintenance of a pool
- Coordination and dexterity
- Physically able to perform duties and sufficient strength to control struggling adult swimmers.
Acceptable training and experience:
- Graduation from high school or vocational school, and some experience as a lifeguard or swimming instructor.
- Must possess a current valid Water Safety Instructor's Certificate, Lifeguard Certificate, Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate at time of application
- OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
