Salary Range $13.00 - $15.00 Hourly
This position maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool area and facility. They create a safe and positive environment that promotes member safety, engagement and customer service.
Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to perform water rescue skills, CPR, and First Aid procedures in an emergency situation. Hold or obtain current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Hold or obtain current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and use good judgement. Ability to work in a team environment and to act independently.
Education and Experience: Be able to pass prequalification skills as scheduled. Customer service experience preferred. Experience working as a lifeguard, teaching swim lessons, and performing pool management, or any equivalent demonstration of training or experience.
Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting or standing to a significant degree (sitting 2/3 of the time; standing 1/3 of the time). Use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3 of time. Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, may be required under 2/3 of the time. The employee will work in a swimming pool area which has an air temperature of 80 degrees and the water is 82 degrees. Will occasionally lift, carry, and otherwise move and position objects weighing at least 20 to 25 lbs. with infrequent requirements to lift at least 50 pounds.
