ABOUT THE POSITION
We are now hiring for the Summer 2026 Season!
There's no better place to be this summer than at the McNear's Beach Pool! We are a fun team who loves to work outdoors, is super sociable, and truly cares about the safety of others. Apply today if you want to become a part of an outstanding team of lifeguards who have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the people who visit our pool.
Lifeguards will be assigned to work the season at McNear's Beach Park in San Rafael. McNear's Beach pool is open for recreational swimming daily from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm between May and the beginning of September. Lifeguards can expect to work between two and five days a week. Flexible schedules will be considered.
Duties may include but are not limited to: Enforcing pool rules and regulations; providing information to the public; performing routine maintenance duties to keep the pool and facility in clean and safe condition; collecting admission fees and preparing daily reconciliation and bank deposit preparation; responding to emergency situations in the pool; performing tests to ensure safe pool water quality; maintaining routine records and performing other related duties as required.

Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect.
