Job Description
Teaches swimming lessons. Monitors the use of the swimming pool and enforces all safety rules. Monitors locker weight and steam rooms. Assists in implementing various aquatic competitions. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties not limited to:
• Answering incoming calls • Running errands • Picking up supplies as needed • Selling tickets • Collecting fees • Helping set up for classes • Events • Any other duties as assigned
Responds to public inquiries made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings about aquatic programs. Assists monitors in all other recreation activities in-house or at any other parks and/or recreational facilities. Maintains records and statistics for various aquatics programs. Assists in maintenance of the swimming pool. Opens and closes facility as needed. Monitors and maintains pool filtration system and adjusts water chemistry as needed to maintain standards under the direction of proper lead or supervisory person. Officiates at swimming meets. Performs other duties as assigned. Required to work early morning hours, evenings, and weekends.
Additional Information
Starting Hourly Pay: $12.00 per hour
Minimum Required Qualifications
• Water Safety Instructor Training • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training • CPR for Professional Rescuers • AED • Valid drivers license Must meet Citys insurability requirements

• Must pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
• One year of experience in teaching swimming lessons • One year of experience on deck life guarding • One year as ARC Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, and AED Certified
