Lift Truck Operator

About the Role

This position involves the safe transportation of carpet rolls and hard surfaces within a warehouse setting. The role exists to ensure materials are correctly placed in specified locations and loaded onto customer vehicles, contributing to the smooth operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve roll or bin location using designated systems.
• Transport and place materials in specified locations, such as bins or trailers.
• Secure materials by taping holes or loose ends in the plastic covering.
• Maintain lift truck operations by replacing batteries as needed.
• Manage dock plate operations for safe loading and unloading.
• Utilize red cone system for identifying full or empty trailers.
• Load and unload route trailers efficiently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of Lift Truck Operator training program.
• Completion of all required safety and quality training.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Understanding of and adherence to traffic flow and safety rules.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand on a lift truck for the entire shift.
• Capability to mount and dismount the lift truck up to 15 times per hour using three points of contact.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
• Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs., up to 20 times an hour for 8 hours.
