Light Auto Equipment Technician (Entry Level)- Equipment Services Division
The City of Greensboro is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Light Auto Equipment Technician to join our Equipment Services team. The Equipment Services Division supports essential City operations by maintaining and repairing the vehicles and equipment used by departments across Greensboro. Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $43,755.00 - $61,603.00 Full Salary Range: $43,755.00 - $83,780.00 Annually

Work Schedule:
First Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
First Shift Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
First Shift Tuesday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

About the Role:
The Light Auto Equipment Technician performs preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on automotive vehicles, light and medium-duty trucks (non-diesel), and light off-road equipment while following established safety procedures and best practices. Recruitment will fill 3 positions.

This is an entry-level position within the Equipment Services Technician career series
Position requires walking, stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Work is performed in both shop and outdoor environments with exposure to dust, grease, noise, heat, cold, and inclement weather
Employee must provide their own tools
Must obtain the following certifications within six months of hire:
North Carolina Emission/Safety Inspection License
Air Conditioning Recovery Certification
Position is Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
"OR" an equivalency of 2 years of education and 7+ years of " professional related" experience in Automotive/Light/Medium duty vehicles, trucks (non-diesel), and Light/Medium duty off-road equipment maintenance.
2-7+ years of documented Journey Level experience in Automotive/Light/Medium duty vehicles, trucks (non-diesel), and Light/Medium duty off-road equipment maintenance.
Valid Drivers License
Emission/Safety Inspection License and Air Conditioning Recovery Certification ("OR" the ability to obtain within 6 months from hire date)
Class C Drivers License.
