Position Summary
The Solder and Mechanical Operator is responsible for the end?to?end assembly of printed circuit cards, including manual and semi?automatic soldering, mechanical part placement, inspection, and documentation. The role ensures that assembled circuit cards meet all quality, reliability, and safety specifications while adhering to production schedules and Lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Soldering Operations Perform manual hand?soldering, wave soldering, and reflow processes on circuit boards. Apply solder paste, flux, and alloys according to engineering drawings and IPC standards. Monitor soldering equipment (temperature, conveyor speed, etc.) and make real?time adjustments.
2. Mechanical Assembly Install components (mounts, brackets, heat?sinks, connectors) using hand tools, torque wrenches, and pneumatic fixtures. Align and secure components to maintain dimensional tolerances.
3. Inspection & Testing Conduct visual and automated optical inspection (AOI) of solder joints and mechanical fit. Perform functional tests (continuity, power?up) and record results. Document non?conformances and initiate corrective actions.
4. Documentation & Traceability Complete work orders, lot tracking sheets, and time?studies. Log equipment parameters, material lot numbers, and test results in the MES system.
5. Continuous Improvement Participate in Kaizen events, 5S activities, and root?cause analysis. Suggest process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework.
6. Safety & Compliance Follow EHS guidelines, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean workstation. Comply with IPC?610, IPC?2221, and internal quality standards.
