Light Industrial - Returns Processor

Pay Rate: $17.35/hour

Schedule: 5/2 shift

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Returns Processor to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing return transactions within the warehouse management system, supporting inbound, outbound, and parcel functions. Your primary focus will be on managing workflow, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring accurate inventory and shipment data handling to support efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage workflow for each shift to optimize warehouse operations.
  • Plan, allocate, pick, manifest, and close daily order waves.
  • Monitor and move workload through the warehouse management system using system screens.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to resolve issues related to overages, shortages, damages, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Schedule inbound carriers and update outbound shipping communication channels.
  • Generate, review, and interpret system reports and audit sheets to evaluate shift performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate directly with carriers to coordinate physical and system transactions seamlessly.
  • Review receipts transmitted via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and ensure accurate processing.
  • Oversee parcel exchanges from the shipping dock to carrier trucks, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Resolve data transmission errors by working with customer IT and procurement teams and interfacing with IT support for system issues.
  • Ensure thorough shift communication and proper handover procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management in support of warehouse operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management system equipment
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory concepts
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work productively within a team and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong task prioritization and management skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work safety guidelines
  • Ability to work the specified shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six months of warehouse experience
  • 0-1 years of experience in data entry and/or dispatch
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Tools and Equipment

  • Warehouse management system equipment
  • RF scanner (Scáner RF)
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems for receipt transmission and shipment updates

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Constant visual attention required (67-100%) (near, far, depth, peripheral)
  • Mostly indoor work (95%), with some outdoor exposure (5%)
  • Ability to work in an office or warehouse environment with safety precautions and PPE when applicable
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, requiring compliance with OSHA safety standards and MSDS guidelines
