Tower's Light Manufacturing Assembly (LMA) Technician is required to be proficient in the processes and procedures needed for assembling and manufacturing products within the department. It is the Technician’s responsibility to work with the production manager or engineering team to achieve the company's goal.
The LMA Technician specializes in product assembly, the use of hand tools, and soldering equipment required for connector and component termination. Employees are required to reference the list of jobs to complete for customers’ orders and stock replenishment. The Hit List contains each assembly job assignment with quantities, part numbers, and work order numbers. Each employee is provided formal work order assignments with an associated Bill of Materials for the job at hand. Projects and kits are generally picked in the Component Inventory Department and staged by the Manager for release into production as required. Employees are expected to use product samples, mechanical diagrams, and photo-based assembly documentation to assemble components in accordance with the product assembly requirements. Tower provides employees with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment for the processing of printed circuit board assembly, hand tools, soldering equipment, and assembly procedures. Product assembly requires each assembler to inspect and test their work according to the quality system requirements outlined under Zero Defects. Completed work is turned into the Quality Control Department with accompanying paperwork. Work is expected to be accurately assembled to the correct standard, soldered or crimped properly, and signed off on the hit list with time and date.
