Salary Range:$72,907.90 - $107,539.12
Works under the direction of the Fleet Services Administrator to manage overall operations of the City of Memphis vehicles under one ton in size (light fleet) repairs. Oversees the fleet maintenance system to record and monitor fleet, fuel, and parts used for fleet repairs. Utilizes various fleet and production reports to monitor life cycles, cost estimates for vehicle, equipment maintenance and repairs. Develops automated systems and internal controls to maintain accountability. Manages the processing of all transactions and comply with applicable laws and ensure fair treatment of the public. Assists divisions with the replacement policy based on the vehicle life cycle standards. Analyzes division fleet utilization to determine the most cost effective replacement schedule and recommends deletion/replacement. Handles personnel concerns such as employee selection, training, utilization, and discipline for the assigned department. Regulates the fleet to reduce acquisition and maintenance costs. Monitors operating budget and contracted services. Creates and prepares a variety of correspondence, memoranda and reports by utilizing various computer applications. Creates and updates citywide capital acquisition budget. Travels to various satellite vehicle shops and other division worksites throughout the city. Recommends vehicle specifications and purchases vehicles for each division. Assists in the preparation of bid packages including meeting with client divisions to access their needs.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and seven (7) years management
experience in automotive fleet repair preferably within the public sector with (5) five of the seven (7) years in a supervisory capacity; or any combination of education and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment. Working experience with Microsoft Applications such as Word and Excel is preferred. Working experience with vehicle maintenance software systems is preferred.
