The School of Polytechnic at Purdue University Fort Wayne is seeking applications for a Limited-Term Lecturer (LTL) in Construction Management (CM) to teach CM 12300 - Digital Graphics for the Built Environment, a foundational course in the CM program. We welcome applicants who can bring both industry experience and a passion for working with students into the classroom. This course is offered face-to-face, and course materials will be provided. The Fall 2026 term begins on August 26, 2026. LTL positions are temporary, non-benefits-eligible, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Introduce students to graphic communication used in the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry through computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Teach technical sketching and CAD applications in the development of working drawings.
  • Cover topics including layers, viewports, text, hatching, dimensioning practices, and layout preparation for plotting.
  • Guide students in creating and managing drawing templates, importing and exporting files, and controlling drawing presentation.
  • Support student learning through hands-on application and practical exercises using AutoCAD.
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports student success.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates should hold at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, engineering technology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution, with a master's degree strongly preferred. Relevant industry experience will also be considered.

Experience using AutoCAD in a construction, engineering, or architectural environment is required; familiarity with Revit is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail are expected.
  • Ability to learn and use classroom instructional technologies and a learning management system (Brightspace).
  • Prior teaching or training experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Purdue University Fort Wayne will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.
