The Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District is seeking a dedicated and flexible Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to serve for the entire 2026-2027 school year. This unique position will provide coverage for three to four extended staff absences throughout the year, offering the opportunity to work with a variety of students, teams, and instructional settings across the district.
Many individuals who serve in long-term substitute roles within the district are often hired into permanent positions for the following school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students receiving special education services
- Implement IEPs, including accommodations, modifications, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with special education requirements
- Ensure continuity of instruction during staff absences
- Build positive relationships with students and staff in multiple school settings
Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong understanding of special education law, IEP development, and service delivery
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
