Job Summary  

\n

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant or catering environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety practices while working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
• \n
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
• \n
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• \n
• Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
• \n
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• \n
• Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation and presentation.
• \n
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
• \n
• Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs when required.

Qualifications 

\n

• \n
• Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in the food service industry.
• \n
• Knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety standards.
• \n
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods and equipment.
• \n
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• \n
• Experience with menu planning is a plus.
• \n
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
• \n
• Previous experience as a dietary aide or in catering is advantageous but not required. 
• \n

Position Classification and Expected Hours of Work:

• \n
•  The assigned hours to this position vary each week according to event schedules but include working on holidays and weekends.
• \n

\n

 

\n

Compensation/Pay Scale:  Based on experience, starting at $18.50 per hour.

\n

\n

Reports to:  Chef on Duty.

\n

\n

Manages and Supervises:  This is not a supervisory position.

\n
