POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

We are looking for a New Homes Licensing, Insurance & Closing Specialist to join our New Homes Team to take ownership of solar licensing compliance and insurance management while providing supplemental support to the closing team as needed.  This position ensures that all installations meet local, state, and federal requirements, and that proper insurance coverage is maintained to mitigate risk.  In addition, the role assists with closing activities during peak periods or coverage gaps.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, knowledgeable in regulatory processes, and experienced in the solar and construction industry.  The individual must be capable of working independently while collaborating effectively across Legal, Operations, and Closing teams.  cross-functional. 

This position will be remote, based out of Miami, Florida.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Licensing Compliance and Insurance Coordination (Primary Focus): 

  • Own and manage all New Homes contractor licensing requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with state and local licensing regulations.
  • Track and manage license renewals, expirations, and required documentation.
  • Communicate with project managers and external agencies to resolve compliance issues.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on licensing compliance.
  • Administer New Homes and project-specific insurance policies (general liability, workers’ comp, builder’s risk, etc.)
  • Partner with brokers and carriers to obtain, renew, and maintain appropriate coverage.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with insurance requirements and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
  • Review contracts and identify potential insurance risks or gaps. 

Closing Support (Secondary / As Needed): 

  • Provide backup support to Closing Coordinators during high-volume periods or absences.
  • Assist in compiling and reviewing final closing documentation, including solar agreements and recordable documents.
  • Support resolution of issues that may delay closings.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience and education with associate degree, paralegal certification or equivalent with a minimum of 5+ years of professional work experience including 2-3+ yeas or work experience in licensing and insurance coordination (solar, construction, or related field preferred). 
  • Proven ability to manage complex compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and risk management.
  • Advanced organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with experience interacting across Legal, Operations, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/project management tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 1% based on business needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solar Industry experience (Renewable)
  • Experience supporting or working alongside solar closing teams
  • Background in process improvement or compliance program development

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
