Line cook

Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.

We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role focuses on food preparation to support our café, bakery, and deli operations and is ideal for someone who works well independently and takes pride in consistent, high-quality prep work.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before and during service
• Ensure all food is cooked, plated, and served in a timely manner
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
• Assist with prep work and closing duties as needed
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service

Work Schedule: 03:30 pm - 12:00 am Fri - Tue

Pay & Compensation: $18-$22 per hour + tips (team members typically earn up to $25-27/hr)

Benefits:

• 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked
• $2 extra per hour worked on Sundays
• 1 week paid vacation after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
• Knowledge of Ukrainian or Eastern European cuisine is a plus
