Our Cook's are an integral part of our Food and Beverage operation. Cook plans, prepares, and cooks food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for our guests. They help keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. They ensure proper food handling, sanitation and following food storage procedures.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
Plate and garnish food for presentation to guests.
Maintain a clean, safe and organized work station, including utensils, equipment and dishes.
Follow and maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards.
Execute opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance to Company standards and guidelines.
Set up and maintain workstations with proper ingredients and equipment.
Ensure the quality of food items and ingredients.
Cut meats, vegetables, and other foodstuffs as prescribed by the standardized recipes
Restocks hot line and pantry line with food products.
Wrapping, dating, and rotation of product to ensure quality and freshness.
Assist cooks in the making of sauces, soups, vegetable, gravies, and entrees following standardized recipes.
Attend training, safety, pre-shift, and departmental meetings as scheduled.
Beginning knowledge of the preparation of dressings, vinaigrettes, cold sauces, and soup.
Clean and sanitize workstation.
Prepares common pooled prep or bulk production items.
Assists with receiving deliveries, puts away inventory, and assists with organization of dry storage and freezer using rotational practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six months, or more, experience in institutional food preparation including knife motor skills (preferred).
Have a thorough knowledge of all institutional kitchen equipment and their proper use and care.
Knife motor skills.
Ability to read chemical directions and warnings for their proper use.
Assists dishwasher staff as needed with assigned tasks.
Perform any general cleaning tasks using authorized, institutional labeled cleaning products.
