Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This position plays a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality dining experience by maintaining efficiency, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Set up and stock assigned workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before each shift.
  • Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner during service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, expeditors, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with food prep, inventory, and restocking as needed.
  • Properly operate kitchen equipment while following all safety procedures.
  • Support other kitchen team members during busy periods and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a commercial kitchen preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with grill, sauté, fry, or pantry stations.
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of food safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with recipe execution and portion control.
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
