Line Cook
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals to meet Kommissary's high-quality standards in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. This role requires strong technical skills, teamwork, and the ability to maintain consistency under pressure. The idealcandidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional food.
The Line Cook will:
- Prepare and cook food using advanced techniques such as grilling, roasting, and pan-frying.
- Execute precise knife skills for consistent food preparation.
- Ensure food preparation and storage meet NY Department of Health safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality meal production.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail, even under pressure.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth operations.
- Stay positive, calm, and solutions-oriented during high-pressure situations.
- Work overtime when required to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications include:
- Proven experience as a line cook in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain composure under pressure.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work standing or walking for extended periods.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and moving at a fast pace.
