Line Cook
Job Location: San Rafael, California
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay Rate: $26-$26.50/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 12pm-8:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a Line Cook in a commercial kitchen? Our client, an upscale retirement community in San Rafael, is looking for an experienced Line Cook to join their kitchen team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook proteins, vegetables, soups, sauces, stocks, and other menu items
- Cook food to proper temperature, flavor, and presentation standards
- Work efficiently in a high-production, dynamic kitchen
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Use knives and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow recipes, menus, and food safety standards
- Organize and properly store food using FIFO practices
- Clean and break down your station at the end of each shift
- Communicate supply or kitchen issues to the Chef or Dining Services Manager

You will be supporting a well-established upscale retirement community in San Rafael, California.
Experience Required:
- 1-2+ years of commercial kitchen and prior line cook experience
- Experience in a high-volume kitchen; fast food experience alone does not qualify
- Strong knife skills are a must
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Food Handler's Certification required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Available for occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed
