We are looking for an experienced, talented, culinary-minded Cook. Successful candidates will have a passion for food, a desire to grow as a chef, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to take direction with humility.
You are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through creative and high-quality dishes. With previous experience in kitchens, you can manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you can work nights and weekends, as Sage operates for lunch and dinner Tuesday – Saturday.Sage is part of a thriving company; there are ample opportunities for candidates who show ambition, drive, and a passion for hospitality.
Responsibilities:
Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces
Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
Ensure food is cooked and stored at the correct temperature
Operate and clean kitchen equipment properly – ovens, grill, fryer, range, broiler, slicer, etc
Prepare and cook food according to Sage standards and recipes
Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a restaurant cook is preferred
ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain)
Effective communication skills
Ability to lift 30+ lbs
Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
